The RMH prides itself for its rich and diverse history. It’s continued to provide health & medical care to residents of Lower Northwest Philadelphia.
They’ve been serving Roxborough, East Falls & Manayunk communities since 1890.
Less than a decade later…in 1898…they opened the doors of their School of Nursing.
Three years later…in 1901...they had their first graduation ceremony… On that day…five women became the first alumni of RMH School of Nursing.
Even after a century, the school is still committed to nurture and prepare students to become RNs. To this date, it has helped more than 2,000 men and women become nurses.
Many of whom now hold illustrious positions in hospitals, education, leadership, etc.

RMH School of Nursing has also partnered with Abington’s Penn State University. The partnership allows qualified graduates to get a BSN in six months. You’re eligible as long as you pass the NCLEX®.

To qualify for RMH School of Nursing you have to go through a tough screening process. For your application to go through, here’s what you need to qualify
To be eligible for transfer…you need a solid academic history from your previous school. And meet the above admission requirements.
Moreover, you need to get proof…or documentation…from the Dean of your previous school. It should show that you withdrew from their program in good standing.
And you did not receive a letter of dismissal for disciplinary reasons. Additionally, as a transfer student you’ll have to start with Nursing 100.
Before you apply, you should get stamped transcripts from all your previous schools. You’ll need the following:
It’s your job as an applicant to ensure you’ve submitted all the required documents. RMH School of Nursing has an application checklist that you can use to ensure you don’t miss a thing.
Once you’ve submitted your application, it’s tracked on a portal…SONIS. After receiving your documents, your application is reviewed by the Admission Committee.
A decision of your application or admission is often arrived at during the next Admission Committee meeting… Committee meetings are often scheduled throughout the calendar year.
That said, it’s not uncommon for applicants to go for an interview.

Very happy with my education from Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. I graduated, took my NCLEX right away, received my RN license and started working by July. Affordable program. Our instructors were very good.

During COVID 19 classes had to be online and the instructors still taught everything as if we were still in class.

Is it hard to get into RMH School of Nursing? Yes. Their selection process is very thorough and you might have to go for a personal interview.
That said, from the handful of reviews we’ve seen thus far…it’s a pretty great school to kick off your nursing career.
While it only has a diploma in nursing program, it prepares you well enough to become a practicing nurse.
What’s more, after passing your NCLEX® you only need six months to get a BSN at Penn State University. Provided you qualify.
This takes me back to a few years ago when I was applying for my ABSN program. I remember it like it was yesterday…sending out my first application and then waiting…
